We are pleased to announce that now at Keelona Farm we offer superior care for lay ups, rehabilitation, retirees, and foaling out services. For the equine athlete, Keelona Farm and our outstanding care team have developed an intermediate care facility that gets your injured horse out of the stress of the vet hospital and into a relaxed country setting where they can heal mentally and physically.
Well-established Keelona Farm is located in southern Albemarle County, convenient to Charlottesville and 20 minutes from Interstate 64. The facility sits on 75 acres surrounded by Farmington Hunt territory and adjacent to a top level eventing barn. The PJ Williams 14-stall custom structure is centrally located on the property and offers many options that a foaling mare or injured horse on its way to recovery will need. It is within the close service range to four or more veterinary hospitals.
The barn itself has an indoor track for walking and jogging with stalls in the center. There is an efficient 4-fan ventilation system in the roof that pulls air up and out in the hot weather. Radiating out from the barn are many options for private turn out that can be large or small, pasture or dry lot, most with run in sheds and fans. The stalls are 12 x 12 with several 12 x 24 foaling stalls and an observation room. Fencing is horse-safe woven Kentucky Diamond wire with top boards. For a stallion or isolation, there is a top board electric line.
Hi and thanks for checking out Keelona’s web site or more correctly blog! I have decided to dive into the blog format and bypass the traditional website. Hope that this works and I hope that you will let me know.
With this blog I am planning to expand into the many different levels of the farm:
I am going to have the horses for sale – very important and the fuel that keeps the fire burning. Check out the horses for sale under the “Pages” menu.
Rentals and boarding – I have two houses here and an incredible horse facility that are ready to move in. It’s a big farm.
My Mother, Virginia Ann Klumpp – This will be my opportunity to share her life, photographs, art, and incredible equine knowledge through her many writings. She was an amazing Horsewoman and deserves a true tribute.
Information on the horses in general – News, winnings, what they are doing
And lastly, My Pages, Lucia Evans-Morse – where I can share my design work, family, animals, art, and my general thoughts and ideas.
Please check back and stick with me. It might be another interesting ride.
